The Police Academy training classes are structured and designed through a partnership between IVC and POST (The Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training). We offer police academy training for working students who need a flexible evening/weekend schedule.
Police Academy Classes are to be taken in this order:
POST 160 - Module III
POST 162 - Module II
POST 164 - Module I
The daily schedule for POST 160 - Module III is Monday-Thursday 18:00-22:00 , Saturday
07:00-17:00, one Friday, on July 26, 2024 08:00 - 18:00 and runs June 24 - August
31, 2024.
The daily schedule for POST 162 - Module II is Monday-Thursday 18:00-22:00, some Fridays
18:30-23:00, & Saturdays 08:00-17:00, and runs September 9 - December 7, 2024.
The daily schedule for POST 164 - Module I is Monday-Thursday 18:00-22:00, some Fridays
18:30-23:00, & Saturdays 07:00-17:00, and runs from January 2 - June 5, 2025.
After the successful completion of Module I, you will have completed your police academy training and can apply to be a peace officer anywhere in California.
We encourage our police academy students to apply and work as Reserve Officers during their training to increase their knowledge and obtain work experience.
