Purpose: To increase student knowledge of Black Culture and concerns in America.  Increase interest in an awareness of Black lives and Black minds.


Active Minds Chapter at IVC: Advisor, Guadalupe "Lupita" Castro, (760) 355-6310
Purpose:

  1. Organize campus events to increase mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
  2. Create programs and/or activites that are responsive to unique needs of the IVC campus community. These include panel discussions, speaker presentation, stress-relief activities, and other activities appropriate for students' mental health needs.
  3. Promote mental health services available at the IVC Student Health Center and other community agencies by tabling in central areas of the campus.
  4. Advocate for changes in campus policies and procedures to better support mental health on campus.
  5. Represent the IVC student voice on campus committees associated to health and student services.
  6. Engage chapter members in the practice of self-care as a significant component for helping others.
  7. Hold fundraising events in support of the Active Minds movement.

Purpose: To help young men and women get established in farming and related occupations. To increase, share, and add to the members understanding of agricultural related knowledge. To assist and cooperate with other agricultural and campus organizations. To encourage social, recreational and educational activities.

Purpose: To promote American Sign Language and Deaf Culture. To encourage social and recreational activities. To assist and cooperate with other valley and campus organizations.

IVC Business Club: Advisor, Angie Ruiz, (760) 355-6339
Purpose: To promote student interaction between school, government, and business sectors by attending professional events, conferences, community activities and offering the association's services to different organizations (private and non-private).

Chemistry Club: Advisors,  Dr. James Fisher 
Purpose: To inform, empower, and unite potetial Chemistry majors at Imperial Valley College.  We recognize the lack of Chemistry involvement at IVC, therefore this organization will create a transfer-focused culture for these students and provide them with the necessary resources that will ensure their success at Imperial Valley College as well as increase their transfer readiness.  Chemistry Club students will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and support systems, which will create a sense of community among students with the common goal of trasnferring to a four-year school as Chemistry majors.  This club will serve as a space for students to exchange ideas and to vocalize their concerns, as well as create a helpful environment for first-year college students who are interested in becoming Chemistry majors.  The resources we will provide include informational meetings, guest speakers, and field trips to local places as well as potential future universities for Chemistry transfers.  Ultimately, participation and excitement for the club will allow the Chemistry community at IVC to grow and thus increase transfer rates in the Chemistry field.

Chicana/o Studies Club: Advisor, Miguel Chavez, (760) 355-6492
Purpose: The CSC is dedicated to engaging and empowering students on their educational journey by offering a diverse range of educatonal programming. We aim to cultivate a transfer-oriented atmosphere and organize events tailored to the unique requiremeents of our campus communities. Our primary objective is to equip students with essential knowledge, resoruces, and support structures that build a keen sense of belonging because we are committed to fostering academic achievement and preparing students for transfer to four-year institutions to complete their chosen degrees. The CSC provides an array or resrouces, including informational meetings, mentoring prgrams, workshops, scholarship opportunities, guest speaker sessions, university field trips, and cultural events on and off campus.

Purpose:  The mission of the Early Childhood Education Club is to provide students with a safe and welcoming environment to meet with other individuals interested in a similar field. In the belief that such an organized group of students will have a positive impact in regards to academics.

Purpose:  To promote social and educational opportunities for those IVC students interested in designing, building and programming robots and other mechanical systems. In addition, club members will engage in workshops, community events and competitions that promote communication skills and teamwork.

Purpose:  To promote the French language and francophone culture.  To encourage social and recreational activities.  To assist and cooperate with other valley and campus organizations.

Purpose: (a) Promote and support the teaching profession and to encourage interest in that profession, through networking with schools, teachers and educational programs.  (b) Provide opportunities for students to develop and demonstrate leadership skills through the planning and implementation of club activities.  (c) Enhance the knowledge of volunteer opportunities for pre-professional experience in public schools.  (d) Encourage a closer relationship between students and the college, faculty, and advising staff.

Purpose: To provide opportunities for all students to gain knowledge about healthcare fields. Increase opportunities to hone on's skills through volunteer work in the community. Encourage leadership development through education, collaboration, and experience. Offer opportunities for networking with those in healthcare fields.

LGBTQ+ Club:  Advisors, Lisa Solomon  (760) 355-6453
Purpose: The purpose of this club is to provide a safe place for students to meet, support each other, talk about issues related to sexuality, and work to end homophobia.  In addition to support, the students fo this club will work on educating themselves and the broader school community about sexuality and gender identity issues.  The group will also provide a social outlet for LGBTQ and straight students.

IV Math Club: Advisor, Caroline Bennett
Purpose: To promote the subject of Mathematics.  To promote students to pursue a career in a math-related field and to encourage the study of not only in Mathematics, but also in any career in general.  To improve the attitude of students towards Mathematics.

Purpose: The purpose of this organization shall be: to expose Imperial Valley College psychology majors as well as students interested in the field of psychology, to an outside the classroom experience in the field of psychology. The organization will expose the student members to psychology faculty, professional interests related to psychology (e.g., Clinical, Statistics, Biological, Forensics, Social, Cognition, Counseling, I/O); put on campus/online workshops; have guest speakers online/on campus; develop outings to psychological meetings/conferences as well as online; hospitals, and clinics; introduce the students to community professionals in the discipline.

Purpose: To engage students in recreational outdoor activities as a way to promote education and appreciation of various local environments, including but not limited to; knowledge regarding local flora and fauna, as well as physical geography and geology. To provide platform in which students may share information, and interpret their environment. To encourage and promote conscious lifestyle choices that benefits the student and the environment.

Purpose: To inspire students to reach their dreams, goals and their full potential, by offering emotional, academic and social support.

Anime and Comic Book Club:
Purpose: To provide an opportunity for students of Imperial Valley College to explore Japanese, South Korean, and American culture through both visual and written media.  Visual media includes but not limited to anime (Japanese cartoons), Korean dramas, cartoons and movies.  Written media includes but is not limited to manga (Japanese comics), manhwa (Korean comics), and American comics.  The goals of the club include exploring, analyzing, and interpreting anime (and other visual media) as a form of art and comics as a form of literature.  Club members will also have the opportunity to work together to study Japanese and South Korean culture and the Japanese language.

Aquatics Club:
Purpose: The Aquatics club will be to support club member's health through aquatic sports and games. 

Automotive Club:
Purpose: To promote student interaction with the latest technology in the automotive industry, allowing students to use their automotive experience and create/build vehicles from scratch.  This club will give students the ability and resources.

Baha'i Unity Club: 
Purpose: To bring students together in a spirit of friendship, to promote independent and unprejudiced thinking, to foster unity among racial, ethnic and religious groups on campus, to collaborate with organizations having simiar aims, and to foster understanding, love and fellowship on this campus by sponsoring such events as lectures, information tables, service projects, discussions, social activities and public meetings.  This club shall not endorse any partisan or political group on a campus level or otherwise.

Campus Safety & Parking Control Club: 
Purpose: The purposes for which this organization is formed are:

  1. To promote campus safety/parking control awareness withint the campus.
  2. To assist in training the campus community in emergency preparedness.
  3. To deliver professional and corteous service to the campus community.
  4. To assist in providing a safer parking environment to the campus community. 


Change Under The Sun CUTS: 
Purpose:

  1. To reach out to college students and create engagement with voting and local politics.
  2. To develop and improve involvement in local community politics.
  3. To promote and improve the efforts of the conservation of Salton Sea.
  4. To carry out a total of 100 hours volunteer time to local community non-profit organizations such as Imperial Valley Food Bank, Imperial Valley Economic Development Corporation, and CASA of Imperial County.
  5. To co-operate with other cities and create involvement within the county with events and petitions for business/home owners to up keep community appearance.


Chicanx Club: Advisor, Gilberto Reyes
Purpose: To strive for educational, cultural, economic, political, and social empowerment within the Chicanx community to liberate nuestra gente; create an alliance with the any club that wants social justice, as well as working with the LGBT, and the Black Community of the Imperial Valley Campus.  To undertake the responsibility of retaining our identity and furthering our cultural awareness; by creating tolerance, and empowering minorities that exist within the Chicanx community.  To undertake the responsibility of uplifting and mobilizing Chicanx through higher education and to implement plans of action concerning Chicanx students at Imperial Valley College.

College Association of Abuse Prevention (CAAP) Club: Advisor, Aruna Patel, (760) 355-6579
Purpose: The CAAP will work on: (1) Provide non confrontational education and information to the college and the community regarding the consequences of addiction and alcohol/substance abuse. (2) Provide community outreach to personas at risk or dealing with substance abuse issues. (3) Provide referral information for prevention, abuse and services. (4) Promote healthy substance free activities. (5) Provide students activities to raise funds for students to supplement their educational opportunities at workshops and substance abuse conferences.

Purpose:  The purpose for which this organization is formed are: to promote awareness of Communication field, to encourage social and recreational activities, to assist and cooperate with other valley and campus organizations.

Cross Country Club: Advisor, Jill Nelipovich, (760) 355-6297
Purpose: To promote health and fitness through running. Prepare for competitions, locally and regionally, raise money to fund entry fees and travel cost, develop interest in the women's cross-country team and develop friendships with other students with a similar interest.

IVC Dance Club: 
Purpose: The Imperial Valley College Dance Club purpose is to create a friendlier environment, encourage students to be themselves, have fun, make new friends and gain confidence. The club will also encourage a healthier lifestyle.

Diesel Tech Club:
The purpose:  To promote student interaction with the latest technology in teh automotive industry, allowing students to use their automotive experience and create/build vehicles from scratch.  This club will give students the ability and resources.

Disabled Student Club:
Purpose: To encourage social, recreational, and educational activities among Disabled Student Club members. To provide a forum to which IVC disabled and non-disabled persons can bring to the Disabled Student Club all and any disability related issues.

Purpose: The purpose is to raise funds for Educational Field Trips, to assist Educational Talent Search Bridge students with their educational supplies, and book grants.

Purpose:  To increase an awareness of the social and cultural aspects of English-speaking communities; to encourage social, recreational and educational activities among club participants; to assist and cooperate with other valley and campus organizations; to promote Higher Education to the non-native English  speaking population; to provide a space for practicing the English language for those non-native English speakers.

Film Club: 
Purpose: The purpose of this organization shall be socialization between its members and to bewitch their knowledge in film. 

F.I.R.S.T. (Formerly Incarcerated Resilient Students Transition) SOA Club: 
Purpose: It shall be the purpose of this club and its members to create a structured network aimed at supporting academic success, re-entry, and career development for formerly incarcerated students on campus.  Our mission is to offer access to information and resources, advocacy, social and economic support, peer mentoring, and strategies aimed at successfully navigating life in an academic setting.

Purpose:  Striving to participate in a physically fit and healthy lifestyle in a positive and safe environment.

Friends of the Earth Club: Advisor, Mr. Jay Lewenstein
Purpose:  The purpose of this organization shall be to develop leadership skills in IVC/Mecca/Thermal students.  We will plan, develop and administer activities to unite our community.

Future Leaders Club: 
Purpose: To encourage social, recreational and educational activities among Future Leaders Club members. To instill in each individual the self-esteem to carry themselves with a sense of pride and honesty, so that they may be better understood, and in turn, they may better understand. To instill in the minds of all students the need and desire for an education, so that these students may take a firm initiative in all fields of education; and so that we, as students can occupy a worthwhile and significant place in the community.

Purpose: The purpose of this organization is to raise funds for different charitable organizations by means of gaming.

Purpose: Club is formed with the purpose of improving performance skills of each member. Club plans to organize events for the benefits of the music program of IVC. Members will take part in benefiting the music program by performing various shows throughout the semester.

Historical Fencing Club : Advisor, Hector Vildosola
Purpose:  To bring together like-minded individuals interested in history and theis to bring together like-minded individuals interested in history and thehobby of HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts). This community's main goal is to learn andrecreate historical fencing safely, by reading, watching, listening, and/or participating in, in-person meetings.

HOSA: Future Health Professionals
Purpose: To Promote health science/careers education.  Build the confidence of students in tehmselves and their work by providing occupational competencies and social skills that lead to realist choices of careers and successful employment in the healthcare field.  Promote organizational communication with professional groups, and businesses. 

Intersectional Feminist Club: 
Purpose: To motivate students to take action against discrimination on the basis of sex, race, background, color, religion, age, sexual identity, and/or any other individual identifications. This club will give back to the Imperial Valley by volunteering in community service and be in touch with local organization with similar purposes.

Purpose: The purpose of the club shall be to communicate the Gospel in any way, shape, or form to the community in order to save the lost, and impact community decisions. All members will be encouraged to take a stand for the truth and be a good witness to their peers and community.

Purpose: To experience new cuisines and share ideas regarding culinary techniques, recipies, and cooking styles.

Purpose: It shall be the purpose of the Arabs Tennis Club to promote school spirit and develop sportsmanship by creating positive relations within the community and other players during sport events. It is also the goal of the Arabs Tennis club to encourage active participation by tis members.

Military and Veterans Support Club: 
Purpose: To create military & veteran students awareness and support in Imperial Valley College and in our community.  To support military & veteran students through their academic transition.  To allow the sharing of military experiences and to encourage veterans to see college as a viable option.  To change the common perception of the veterans among IVC students, in our community.  To share information regarding:  VA benefits, workshops and other veteran related topics.

IVC Mountaineers Club: Advisor, Dr. Alto Benedicto, (760) 355-6751
Purpose: To incite the fire of curiosity and adventure over every member of the club and to rigorously assemble each member with the abilities they require to properly maneuver over different terrestrial terrains in a safe manner.  To iluminate the member with more knowledge over the different aspects of nature and to indoctrinate the member with a number of skills such as: the ability to read the stars, know the different usage of variety of plants and having the capacity to determine the different species of wildlife.  To create a sense of comradeship and to allocate towards the means of perfectly working as a team.  To develop the community's knowledge over the importance of preserving our forest and valuing our National Parks.  To give to the community awareness over our beautiful surroundings and incite them to go beyond this encapsulated valley.  To ordain individuals into a discipline of health, awareness and adventure.

IVC Nursing Club: Advisor, 
Purpose: The IVC Nursing Club is intended to be a student driven and faculty supported community that promotes persons who have an interest in the nursing field (including certified and licensed interests).

Purpose: To provide students with ideas/lectures in self-improvement, including more effective learning skills, coping with stress, time management, brain training and mindset for success, healthy life-style, etc.

Poetry Club: 
Purpose: To create a group in which students are encouraged to pursue a medical or other health field related careers. To give insight on what it takes to pursure a career in the medical field and other health related professions. To create a network of support between students to ensure their academic success. To encourage social, recreational and educational activities among club participants.

IVC Preschool Parent Club: Advisor, Becky Green, (760) 355-6232
Purpose: The purpose of the club is to create a support for parenting students to strengthen their family bonds while striving to achieve their academic goals.

PUENTE: 
Purpose: The mission of the Organization shall be (Its mission is to increase the number of educationally disadvantaged students who enroll in four-year colleges and universities, earn college degrees and return to the community as mentors and leaders to future generations. The program is interdisciplinary in approach, with writing, counseling and mentoring.)

Robotics Club: 
Purpose: To promote social and educational opportunities for those IVC students interested in designing, building and programming robots. To develop presentations, workshops and competitions, promoting teamwork and utilizing robots.

Save the Salton Sea Club:
Purpose:  To promote awareness and initiative in our community regarding the status and value of our region's Salton sea, and to develop organizational, leadership, and public policy & relations skills, do hereby establish this constitution; Pledging ourselves to exercise the privileges of a campus-chartered club with caution and discretion in regards to College Campus Club Code of Conduct.

Soccer Club:
Purpose: To encourage social, recreational and educational activities among the Soccer Club members. To disseminate and exchange information and value among members and other interested people. To promote IVC and Imperial Valley community involvement.

Purpose: To increase an awareness of the social and cultural aspects of the Spanish speaking countries and communities. To encourage social, recreational and educational activities among club participants. To promote Higher Education to the Spanish Speaking population. To provide a space for practicing the language for those non Spanish Speakers.

Purpose: To provide a space for non-Spanish speakers to practice their language skills.  To promote learning and enrichment of Spanish conversational skills.  To increase an awareness of the social and cultural aspects of the Spanish speaking countries and communities.  To encourage soclial, recreational and educational activities among club participants.

Spay Neuter Incredible Pets (SNIP) Club: Advisor, Veronica Soto, (760) 355-6263
Purpose: To educate and increase awareness on the feral cat issue on campus.  Find a humane and ecological solution to the feral cat issue on campus.  Disseminate information related to the importance of spaying and neutering pets.  Promote adoption of pets through the Humane Society and other Imperial Valley shelters.  Raise funds for food, shelters, and animal necessities and causes.

Spirit Club: 
Purpose: This organization was created to provide entertainment at all home athletic events and endorse school spirit and involvement on campus.  If transportation is available, we will attend any athletic events off campus.

Purpose: To promote and educate in playing music and inspire teamwork through playing together.  To promote conferences, field trips, contests, and other activities that enhace our knowledge of music and string instruments.

Student Art Association Club
Purpose: To encourage social, artistic and educational activities among students. To instill in each individual the self-esteem to carry themselves with a sense of pride and honesty, so that they may be better understood and appreciated. To instill in the minds of all students the need and desire for the appreciation of art and an artisitic outlet.

Student Support Services (SSS) Club: 
Purpose: To encourage social, recreational and educational activities among Student Support Services students. To instill in each individual the self-esteem to carry themselves with a sense of pride and honesty, so that they may be better understood, and in turn, they may better understand. To instill in the minds of all students the need and desire for an education, so that these students may take a firm initiative in all fields of education; and so that we, as students can occupy a worthwhile and significant place in the community

Purpose: It shall be the purpose of Students for Political Awareness to keep informed of political issues affecting our society and government, and provide information regarding these issues to the students of Imperial Valley College and the community. This will be accomplished by working with the other IVC student clubs and various organizations in the community.

IVC Tabletop Games Club: 
Purpose: The purpose of this organization is to create a safe place in which anybody who enjoys TableTop games can convene and find like-minded people to play with.

Purpose: To encourage social, recreational and educational activities among UFC members.  To be an association of personnel in the field of ultimate frisbee, responding to and motivated by its membership.  To provide a forum for the exchange information and value among members and other interested persons.  To further development of the organization.  To strive for greater uniformity and coordination.  To participate in/and encourage the design, development, and conduct of regularly scheduled and/or special training and educational programs for the personal mental/physical advancement of our members.

Upward Bound Club: 
Purpose: The purpose of the club will be to provide its members with leadership experience which will enable them to obtain confidence to run for office at the college and community organizations.

Vertical College Club:
Purpose: Building a foundation for future generations of Christians done through prayer, discipleship, and serving our generation through the guidance of God's Holy Spirit by which, being many, we are made one with Christ. (Ephesians2:20-21)

Veterans Support Club:
Purpose: To create veteran awareness and support in Imperial Valley College students and in our community.  To allow the sharing of military experiences and to encourage veterans to see college as a viable option.  To change the common perception of the Veterans among IVC students and in our community.  To share information regarding: VA benefits, workshops and other veteran related topics.

Welding Club:
Purpose: To provide a safe environment for welding students to practice and become more efficient as they develop their welding skills.  To participate in IVC/Community Events in order to inform our communities about rewarding skilled trade careers such as welding.

The purpose of the club is to bring fellow Catholics together to create a sense of love and community where they can grow in the Catholic faith together, serve God and others, and have fun doing activities that gloria God! 

Zion Bible Study Club: Advisor, Dr. Javier Rangel, (760) 355-6442
Purpose: To promote a better understanding of the bible and discern the teachings of the bible from rules taught by men.  To encourage students to do their research and be informed about modern Christianity and its history. Including how much it has changed over time and how this relates to the will of God.
